Frequently
Asked Questions
What do I have to do in order to bid at an auction?
Before the auction starts, you must register as a buyer by making a refundable deposit of R5000 in the form of a bank guaranteed cheque or credit card. You will then receive a number which you will show to the auctioneer when the car is knocked down to you.
How do I pay?
The auction house will accept EFT payment, bank guaranteed cheque, or a release note from a reputable financial institution. If you chose to do EFT payments please keep in mind that the money needs to reflect on our bank statement before the vehicle will be released.
May I test drive the car before I bid at the auction?
Unfortunately not. You can however, go in the day of viewing to start the vehicle and to get a good first hand look at the vehicle.
Do Burchmore’s charge any buyers commission?
No, we only charge a standard documentation fee of R1750 + 14% VAT. For instance you take the bidding price + R1550 doc fee + 14% VAT. This will then give you the total amount payable for the vehicle purchased.
Can I finance an auction vehicle?
Yes. Finance is available on our floor with all the Major Banks. Please keep in mind if you attend the auction you have to have pre-approved finance in order to participate in the bidding.
